The big birthday bash!!!

For the first birthday, I vowed it would be low key. Well, the table was covered with more presents than any one person could possible need or want. Family and friends came over and helped us celebrate--lots of food and fun!!! I think Davis was wondering why all these people were in his house and why they were taking pictures of him everytime he turned around. He seemed to enjoy himself and was exhausted when the day was done--that would be a successful party. Davis loves all his new toys and all his new books--we read them daily.
12 months and growing

Davis finally reached the one year mark--I can't believe it!!! He is measuring 30 inches and weighing 21.5 pounds. He is walking around things and crawling really fast. I think that he is almost ready to walk on his own. He keeps me on my toes. He dosen't really like to eat (which he does not get from my side of the family), but we keep trying. He is pretty cute and enjoys making us laugh. Each day is a new adventure and completly unpredictable, which keeps me guessing. But days are usually fun and filled with lots of laughs.
Books, books, and more books!!
Davis LOVES reading!!! If he can get you to start reading, you will be there for at least an hour. However, he only likes to have certain books read to him (over and over again). I have made a game of it. After reading the same book several times, I close my eyes and try to recite it from memory. I figure I might as well make it interesting for all involved. Sometimes I get it right and sometimes I am way off, but since Davis can't read yet, he has no clue!!!
Easter Fun 2007

Easter fun was had by all. There was no hunting eggs outside (the weather was way to cold), so I put the eggs around the house. However, it made no difference to Davis, because he was not interesed in the 30 eggs laying all around the living room. He was more concerned with the easter grass and the books waiting to be read in the basket. He seemed to enjoy the parts of easter he could understand--once again, maybe next year.

10 month and growing

Davis is fast approaching a year old--I can not believe it!!! He is weighing in at 20 pounds and about 29 inches long. He is making attempts at crawling, however, he enjoys standing and walking around the most (with assistance). He pulls up on anything he can get his hands on and usually bites in to it t the same time. Some teeth marks have already shown up on the coffee table. He is constantly making noises and loves to be outside. He also enjoys a good round of Wheel of Fortune before his bath. As you can see from the picture, he does not like to hear the word "no". He is pretty strong willed and is going through a testing phase (not sure where he gets that from). However, he is usually a very happy boy and very well behaved. We are very lucky!!!
So very tired!!!!

As you all know, Davis LOVES to jump. If I put him in any kind of seat, he assumes it is going to allow him to jump. His jump a roo is a very popular "station" we visit throughout the day. Davis sometimes jumps so much that he just cannot jump anymore, because he falls asleep. It is not a gradual build up to exhaustion, it is instant. One minute he is jumping and laughing and the next minute he is slumped over in a deep sleep---oh to be able to sleep like that again!!!

A hard habit to break???

Davis has grown to love his pacifier much more than I realized. We usually just have it at bed time. However, he has one that hangs on his car seat and without fail he finds it and puts it in his mouth everytime he rides in the car. When in bed, he seeks them out and puts them in his mouth. One is not enough, he must have them all. A hard habit to break??? You think???
Big Boy Shoes!!

Davis is now wearing big boy shoes (which makes me a little sad, because he growing up to fast). Since the weather turned cold, Davis could not go out bare footed. He does not seem to notice that he has anything on his feet, however, it just makes it harder to get him in and out of the cart at the grocery store.
Nine months and growing.....

Davis is now 9 months old and growing. He weighs about 20 pounds and is about 28 inches long. He loves to jump and bounce. He spends his days studying objects that are within his reach, since he is opting not ot crawl. He likes to stand and hold on to things, which allows him to bang and scream. He is talking a lot and I am afraid he is going ot be very verbal (not sure where he gets that from). He has four teeth and drewling everywhere. He keeps us on our toes and we LOVE it!!! I think he is the cutest thing ever, but I am his mom!!!!
