The big birthday bash!!!

For the first birthday, I vowed it would be low key. Well, the table was covered with more presents than any one person could possible need or want. Family and friends came over and helped us celebrate--lots of food and fun!!! I think Davis was wondering why all these people were in his house and why they were taking pictures of him everytime he turned around. He seemed to enjoy himself and was exhausted when the day was done--that would be a successful party. Davis loves all his new toys and all his new books--we read them daily.
12 months and growing

Davis finally reached the one year mark--I can't believe it!!! He is measuring 30 inches and weighing 21.5 pounds. He is walking around things and crawling really fast. I think that he is almost ready to walk on his own. He keeps me on my toes. He dosen't really like to eat (which he does not get from my side of the family), but we keep trying. He is pretty cute and enjoys making us laugh. Each day is a new adventure and completly unpredictable, which keeps me guessing. But days are usually fun and filled with lots of laughs.
Books, books, and more books!!
Davis LOVES reading!!! If he can get you to start reading, you will be there for at least an hour. However, he only likes to have certain books read to him (over and over again). I have made a game of it. After reading the same book several times, I close my eyes and try to recite it from memory. I figure I might as well make it interesting for all involved. Sometimes I get it right and sometimes I am way off, but since Davis can't read yet, he has no clue!!!
Easter Fun 2007

Easter fun was had by all. There was no hunting eggs outside (the weather was way to cold), so I put the eggs around the house. However, it made no difference to Davis, because he was not interesed in the 30 eggs laying all around the living room. He was more concerned with the easter grass and the books waiting to be read in the basket. He seemed to enjoy the parts of easter he could understand--once again, maybe next year.
